Optimis Bulls – the top young bulls from Swissgenetics
Optimis bulls are young bulls who although they have not yet produced any daughters, have a high probability of being the very best bulls of their year. They all possess genomic optimized breeding values, a combination of direct genomic and lineage breeding values (see graphic). Reliability (B%) for milk yield for the Brown Swiss breed is an average of 64%, Red Holstein is 67% and for Holstein it reaches 77%.
