Breeding Values Highlights August 2023

The August proof run has been a very good run for Swissgenetics. Many of our top bulls have added many new daughters and now these bulls are showing great indexes with a very high reliability. Consequently, all the sons of those bulls have a solid pedigree with everything to be the new top proven bulls in 2-3 years.

We are convinced that the future will only confirm the quality of our program. We have the right proven bulls, the right genomic bulls out of the best proven and genomic bulls!

Proven bulls

BRICE (Bender x Nelgor x Big Boy): Brice is now for sure the most interesting proven bull worldwide. The 600 daugthers on his proof are confirming that Brice is the right bull for every breeder. He shows top indexes for all production and fitness traits and at the same time he can easily breeds functional cows with also show potential. He is also BB and A2A2!

BOY (Bender x Shadow x Vasir): Boy is proven with a small number of daughters but his profile is clear: for sure Boy is the best proven bull for the production indexes, incredible high for milk Kg and at the same time with positive deviations for Fat and Protein. Boy breeds big and strong cows with a lot of capacity and great rumps. His genetic profile for udder composite is also positive but he can’t compete with Huge SG and Brice. Boy is BB and A2A2!

HUGE SG (Bender x Simbaboy x Jongleur):  Huge SG is dead and sold out but we have several sons of him and his new proof shows us a big potential also for his sons. Huge is a big improver for milk Kg and at the same time is one of the best bulls for PTAT and udder composite indexes. ADEE, AIVEN, BONITTO, LUANO, JJ-P, RAY and GIOVANNI are sired by Huge SG and are the potential stars of the future

BARCA (Haegar x Anibal x Blooming): Barca is proven with 1428 daughters spread over more than five countries. He is a high reliability bull and he can be the right option if you are looking for a bull with a different pedigree, with incredible deviations of Fat % and protein % and with all type traits by far over average!

PETE (Calvin x Blooming x Vigor): Pete has started to add more milking daughters worldwide and his proof continues to be consistent and complete. He is currently a solid bull for protein and the fitness indexes and is also the best available bull for conformation and udder composite. He is easily an udder maker! Pete is also BB and A2/A2.

AMIR (Arrow x Sirkan x Jolden) With more than 1200 daughters on his proof, Amir is the best and most complete Arrow son available. He is a big improver for fat % and protein % and he can also improve all functional traits. His semen fertility is incredibly high, and he is also BB and A2/A2.

HAEGAR (Udoro x Joe x Tau): After a quiet start Haegar is improving his popularity run after run. His daughters are very good production cows with nice udders and also these cows have the potential to be show cows. Haegar is one of the best bulls for longevity index, SCE and calf vitality.

Optimis (genomic bulls):

GUY (Noro SG x Balzac x Simbaboy): Guy is once again the absolute leader in the Swiss ranking with an incredible total index above 1460 GZW! He combines production, super fitness and high type profile with a top udder index. He is also the best bull to improve SCS, mastitis resistance, milking speed and longevity.

CAVRAL (Lover x Bender x Simbaboy): Cavral is the best Lover son worldwide and he is the allround bull. His dam is the full sister of Huge Sg, Cavral is our best bull for conformation and at the same time one of the best for total index. He is a sire of sons internationally and he is also BB and A2A2

RAY (Huge SG x Calvin x Blooming): If you like to use a bull with top indexes for conformation and for all type indexes and at the same time born out of one of the deepest cow family in Switzerland, Ray is the right choice. Dam, granddam and great granddam of Ray have been shown together in one of the best shows in Switzerland, for sure one of the few times with three generations of cows together in one show. He is also BB and A2A2.

ALPIN (Aldo SG x Arrow x Blooming): His dam, his granddam and the maternal sister of his dam are scored EX92 or EX93 and Alpin is consequently our second best bull for conformation. Alpin also has a solid profile also for the production indexes. He is AB and A2A2

FERNANDO (Mane SG x Barca x Simbaboy): Fernando is a new bull out of a very deep cow family and he is another bull without the blood of Blooming and Biver. He is an exceptional bull for production and components, he is positive for persistency, milking speed and DPR. His type profile is also complete and solid. Fernando is BB and A2A2.

GIOVANNI (Huge SG x Capucino x Phil): Giovanni combines the qualities of his sire Huge Sg with the great qualities of the Glenn GLENA EX96 family. He is one of the best bulls if you want to push for production (milk Kg) and at the same time you like to improve conformation and udder composite indexes. Giovanni shows also solid indexes for the fitness traits and he is also BB and A2A2

HALANO P (Calano SG x Victor P x Anibal): Halano P is a new polled bull with a nice total index and at the same time he is a complete bull that excels in all conformation traits. Halano P is probably the best polled bulls for udder composite. He is AB and A2A2.

COLLAPS (Phil x Calvin x Salomon): This bull has a very solid sequence of bulls on his pedigree and his indexes are confirm that he is an elite type bull with an incredible udder index. His dam is Calvin CALIMERA EX-95, one of the most successful show cow of the last season in Switzerland. COLLAPS is BB and 561 432 for triple aAa.

FANROY PP (Tamboy P x Jaboah P x Hacker): Fanroy is the new homozygote polled bull available with a totally different pedigree and for sure he is one of the most interesting outcross bulls worldwide. His dam is a very functional cow with incredible numbers of DPR, she will be five years old in December and she is confirmed pregnant for the 4th lactation. Fanroy shows very high indexes for longevity, DPR and SCE. He is BB and A1A2.

SULLIVAN (Mane SG x Frosty x Blooming): Another new bull from a new cow family also with a special pedigree, he is showing great indexes in Switzerland and also in Canada, Sullivan is a great bull to improve Fat%, Protein %, DPR, longevity, SCS, mastitis resistance, conformation and udder composite. He is BB and A2A2.

CORSO SG ( Calano x Defender x Edgard) and MO SG ( Mane SG x Defender x Edgard): The granddam of Corso SG and Mo SG is the famous Edgard JUPITA EX96. She has been the champion at the Swissclassic 2019 and she also breeds very well. Her daughter, Defender Jarina, is a nice two years old cow and she is the dam of both bulls. There are two other bulls with a great genomic profile not from Blooming, Payssli and Biver on the first three generations of the pedigree. Both bulls are BB and A2A2.
